PKD1 :- Polycystic Kidney Disease

PKD in cats is a hereditary, congenital disorder that causes fluid filled cysts to develop in the kidneys. Which can eventually lead to chronic kidney disease and potential kidney failure. 

A normal genetic test result means that the cat does not have the PKD1 respective genetic mutation.

If both parents of a kitten have been genetically tested normal their offspring will be unaffected.

GM1 :- Gangliosidosis

GM1 is an rare but fatal inherited neurologicol disease, ( lysosomal storage disorder ). Where cats have a deficiency in the activity of the enzyme beta-galactosidase, which is responsible for breaking down specific carbohydrates in the cells. This results in an accumulation of the ganglioside carbohydrate GM1 in cells.  Which some of the signs are head and limb tremors, lack of coordination also loss of vision may also occur. If both parents of a kitten have been genetically tested normal their offspring will be unaffectecd
