Cat litter trays come in all shapes and sizes some cats like some designs better than others, you might have to try a few designs out before your cat decides which they prefer to use. A few designs are a open low sided litter tray which most cats will use. Open high sided litter tray which most cats will use, but bare in mind the height of the opening for kittens and older less active cats. Hooded litter trays some cats might not like if they feel trapped in with no escape especially if they live with another cat they don`t bond with very well. Self cleaning litter boxes are expensive bare in mind now easy they are to clean when needed, cost of special cat litter if needed, do they make a noise that will put your cat off using them. Also please be aware of reports some brands of self cleaning litter boxes can be dangerous with cats getting trapped and hurt when using them. Bare in mind the size of your cat when purchasing a litter tray, because a small tray for a large cat doesn`t work very well at all.
